NHK: Forbidden Kyoto

Watched Forbidden Kyoto on the NHK this evening. They were doing a special on potter Richard Milgrim, an American-gone-native in Japan.

It was really inspiring. ┬áThe potter’s enthusiasm and joy felt very Japanese, very genuine, and I was moved by the man’s journey across Kyoto to find the inspiration for his new pots.

He burned tea tree branches and put them in his glaze.

If like to do the same with the oyster shells I collected in Whitstable, eventually.

I want to think more about glazes and how I think about Tea, especially regarding the Tx2 project, which is now coming to a close.
